Terms & Conditions
Any foreign valid licence, at least one year old, is acceptable.
MINIMAL RENTAL The rental is on a 24hr basis.
A guarantee amounting to an estimate of the rental as well as the excess amount applicable in case of accident will be retained on the client's credit card on delivery of the vehicle. Additional deposit of Rs 28,750 (VAT incl.) will be required if the Collision Damage Waiver is not taken.
TAX RATE - (included in the rates)
VAT at the prevailing rate is applicable on all services except petrol.
THIRD PARTY LIABILITY
Damage to 3rd party up to Rs 50 million.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - (included in the rates) The CDW limits the renter's financial liability for accidental damage to the hired vehicle. The responsibility for the first Rs 28,750 (VAT incl.) is reduced to Rs 17,250 (VAT incl.) on all categories. We provide cover subject to compliance with the general rental terms and conditions.
Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)
The excess of Rs 17,250 (VAT incl.) may be reduced to nil if renter subscribes to, by payment of an extra fee of Rs 490 (VAT incl.) per day for all categories.
The renter is responsible for any damage to the upper parts (roof and, more generally, any other upper or protruding part, added bodywork of the vehicle) and as a result of failure to assess the height and/ or the width of the vehicle or/ and striking overhead or overhanging objects.
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal insurance cover is available at an extra fee of Rs 153 (VAT incl.) per day against risks of accident. The insurance covers the driver and passengers of the vehicle in case of death or permanent disability to a limit of Rs 100,000 per person and eventual medical expenses to a limit of Rs 10,000 per person.
The responsibility for the first Rs 28,750 (VAT incl.) may be reduced to Rs 17,250 (VAT incl.) by payment of an extra fee of Rs 90 (VAT incl.) per day on all categories in case of burglary or loss of the vehicle's equipment. We provide cover subject to compliance with the general rental terms and conditions. Tropicar is not liable to the renter or any authorised driver/ passenger for loss or damage to property left in the vehicle either during or after the period of rental. Such property is entirely at the renter's own risk.
Super Theft Protection (STP)
The excess of Rs 17,250 (VAT incl.) may be reduced to nil if client subscribes to STP by payment of an extra fee Rs 180 (VAT incl.) per day for all categories in case of burglary or loss of equipment. This insurance is applicable only if Theft Protection has been contracted first.
Airport Service Charge
Rs 278 (VAT incl.) per rental for any delivery/ collection at airport.
Only the driver indicated on the rental agreement is authorised to drive the Tropicar vehicle. Any additional driver should be mentioned upon delivery of the vehicle. An extra fee of Rs 416 (VAT incl.) is applicable per rental.
Young Driver Surcharge
For drivers/ additional drivers under 25 years, an extra fee of Rs 208 (VAT incl.) per day to a maximum of Rs 2764 (VAT incl.) per rental is applicable.
8 hours service per day and is available upon request. Additional fee as follows:
Week days: Rs 625 (VAT incl.) per day + Rs 83 (VAT incl.) per additional hour.
Sunday & public holiday: Rs 694 (VAT incl.) + Rs 97 (VAT incl.) per additional hour.
Baby Seat, Child Seat & Booster Seat
Baby seat (0 - 15 months, till 11 kg): Rs 161 (VAT incl.) per day, up to a maximum of Rs 1127 (VAT incl.)
Child seat (1 - 4 years, 11 - 18 kg): Rs 161 (VAT incl.) per day, up to a maximum of Rs 1127 (VAT incl.)
Booster seat (4 - 8 years, 18 - 28 kg): Rs 161 (VAT incl.) per day, up to a maximum of Rs 1127 (VAT incl.)
Delivery and Collection During Office Hours - (included in the rates)
Weekend & public holiday: 08h30-12h00
Delivery and Collection After Office Hours
Weekdays: extra fee of Rs 278 (VAT incl.) per trip
Weekend & public holiday: extra fee of Rs 416 (VAT incl.) per trip
Not applicable when delivery/ collection effected at the airport as Tropicar meets flights upon bookings.
MODIFICATION OF A RESERVATION
1. Customers are allowed to make changes to a reservation online by the "View/ Modify/ Cancel a Reservation' page, at least 48 hours prior to pick-up time. No modification administration fee will be applicable.
2. An amount of Rs 1,100 will be claimed for any change made to a booking made online less than 48 hours prior to pick-up time to cover the administrative costs.
3. Any change made to a booking made online will be recalculated based on the availability and prices at the time the change is made. This may be greater or lesser than the price originally booked. This applies to changes made to:
a. Pick-up Location
b. Return Location
c. Pick-up date and time
d. Return date and time
e. Car category
f. All other options
For any modified amount less than the price originally booked, a refund after deduction of 3% bank charges, will be effected.
4. The lead customer name and the pick up location on a reservation cannot be changed. If a customer wishes to change the lead name or the pick up location, then he must cancel the reservation (see terms and conditions for 'Cancellations') and make a new reservation.
5. The customer will be asked to enter a valid credit card number at the end of a change to a prepaid reservation. This MUST be the same credit card that was used for the original reservation. If the customer wishes to change the credit card, then the original reservation must be cancelled (see terms and conditions for 'Cancellations') and a new reservation made.
6. #1Club or Gold numbers cannot be added to an existing reservation online.
CANCELLATION OF A RESERVATION
1. Tropicar will allow customers to cancel a prepaid reservation online by the 'Modify/Cancel' reservation page
2. A full refund of the prepaid reservation, after deduction of 3% bank charges, will be made:
a. If the cancellation is made 72 hours prior to pick-up time
b. Less an administrative fee of Rs 2,000 + 3% bank charges if the cancellation is made less than 72 hours before pick-up time.
3. Cancellation on the spot:
1 day rental - no refund effected
2 - 5 days' rental = one full day rental + 3% bank charges will be charged
6 days' rental or more = 50% of full rental amount + 3% bank charges will be charged
4. Refunds will be made to the credit card that the original booking was made on.
CHANGES AT TIME OF PICK-UP
If at the time of vehicle collection you wish to rent a larger car or rent for a longer period, you may do so, subject to availability, on payment of additional charges. Such charges may be at a higher rate than those previously quoted.
Rentals will be carried out according to the terms and conditions of TROPICAR LTD. Rental agreement to be signed by the renter at the time and place of rental.
